DAILY ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12, 2017

WORD OF THE MONTH  “COMPASSION” – CARING FOR OTHERS WITH KINDNESS.

MENU:CHICKEN N CHEESE CRISPITO, BAKED BEANS, COOKED CARROTS, MIXED FRUIT, CHERRIES, and MILK.  2ND OPTION:HAMBURGER & FRIES, FRUIT, VEGGIES.  NEXT DAY: CHICKEN STICKS, BROCCOLI w/CHEESE, PEAS, APRICOTS, PINEAPPLE, and MILK. BREAKFAST: SCRAMBLED EGGS, BACON/CHEESE, TOAST, PEACHES, JUICE, and MILK.

STUDENTS:THE END OF FIRST SEMESTER AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO EARN ACADEMIC CREDIT GEARED TOWARDS HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION IS RAPIDLY APPROACHING. FIRST SEMESTER FINAL TESTS WILL BE AN IMPORTANT ASPECT OF YOUR SEMESTER GRADE. MANY OF YOU, BASED ON OUTSTANDING SCHOOL ATTENDANCE, WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO "OPT" OUT OF SOME FINAL TESTS. I WILL BE MEETING WITH STUDENTS, STARTING WITH SENIORS, TO GO OVER YOUR ATTENDANCE ON THURSDAY. IT IS FROM THESE MEETINGS THAT TEACHERS WILL BE NOTIFIED WHO WILL BE TAKING FIRST SEMESTER FINALS. SEMESTER TEST SCHEDULE: 12/18/17 – HOURS 1,3,5,7 WILL TEST: 1ST HOUR: 8:00-9:27,  3RD HOUR: 9:30-11:30,  5TH HOUR: 12:00-1:30,  7TH HOUR: 1:33-3:00.   ALL STUDENTS GRADES 7-12 WILL EAT FROM 11:30-11:55.   12/19/17 – HOURS 2,4,6,8 WILL TEST:  2ND HOUR: 8:00-9:27,  4TH HOUR: 9:30-11:30,  6TH HOUR: 12:00-1:30,  8TH HOUR: 1:33-3:00.   ALL STUDENTS GRADES 7-12 WILL EAT FROM 11:30-11:55.

All PE students or student athletes participating in basketball or wrestling: should clean out their PE locker by TUESday so the locker rooms and lockers can be cleaned and disinfected over Winter Break. Whatever is left, will be taken to good will.  Thank you, MrS. LIVENGOOD

THE JUNIOR/SENIOR HIGH CHRISTMAS CONCERT: THURSDAY AT 7:30 PM IN THE HIGH SCHOOL GYM. WEAR BLACK AND WHITE (HS GIRLS: SCHOOL BLACK DRESSES)

STUDENTS: If you have a date who is not a student at THS, you must sign your date up in the office by THURSday nooN, DEC. 14.  IF they are not a student AT THS/FX they must be on the list or they will not be allowed in the dance.

PEP RALLY: FRIDAY IN FAIRFAX. BUSES WILL LEAVE FOR FX AT 1:30 PM. WE WILL DISMISS TO BOARD AT 1:15. tHIS WILL BE DONE IN AN ORDERLY MANNER BY GRADE.

HOMECOMING CORONATION: Friday coronation will occur after the basketball game.

HOMECOMING DANCE 9-12 GRADES:  FRIDAY AFTER THE GAME AT THE FAIRFAX GYMNASIUM UNTIL 11:30 PM.  Dress for dance is casual. free admission to the dance!

Dance Expectations for all students:  All students and guests are expected to have fun and enjoy the evening.  You are to dress appropriately and act appropriately.  Guests are to be under 21 years of age and should bring I.D. as proof.  This means 20 or younger and all dates must be in grade 9 or higher.  If you leave the dance, you will not be allowed back in for any reason.  Use appropriate language and social interaction skills.  Anyone acting in appropriately or causing a scene will be asked to leave.

HOMECOMING Dress Up Days RULES:  STUDENTS MUST HAVE THEIR COSTUME ON ALL DAY.  STUDENTS CANNOT DECORATE THEMSELVES JUST FOR THE ASSEMBLY AND BE COUNTED IN THE COMPETITIONS.  ANY QUESTIONS, SEE mR. mARTIN

Classes have been assigned: WINTER WONDERLAND.  Each class is to design a winning theme around the CHRISTMAS MOVIE OF THEIR CHOICE.  Seniors-HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS Juniors-ELF SophomorES: HOME ALONE; Freshmen- a CHRISTMAS CAROL Grade 8- CHRISTMAS VACATION; Grade 7-THE POLAR EXPRESS.

HOMECOMING POINTS: Overall Winner- This will be decided by adding the points for each class from the dress up days, the class competitions and banners.  The class with the most overall points will earn a pizza party.  The winner will be announced at the half-time of the boys’ basketball game.

senior picture deadline:  by january 15 two senior pictures and one baby picture need to be turned in to Mrs. Parsons.

JUNIORS/SENIORS: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN GETTING A HEAD START ON SPRING 18 DUAL CREDIT REGISTRATION, I HAVE THE MATERIALS YOU NEED IN MY OFFICE. PLEASE SEE COUNSELOR COOPER FOR DETAILS.
